Hi, my name is Sandor Horvath; I am the training, policing, security and consultancy focal point of GOP-KFT. Having completed my police service I launched a new venture in order to provide high quality, practical and pragmatic training and security consultancy services within the public and private sectors.

Few words about me…

I have been a member of the Hungarian National Police Force for more than twenty years. I joined the force in 1988 at a time of great internal upheaval. In 1990 I become a senior member of the National Counter-Terrorist Unit of the Republic of Hungary. I performed my duties in different positions and improved my skills on various subjects. With the end of the “Cold War”, this has given me the opportunity to perform an active role in the development of democracy both in Hungary and other countries of the World.

In an effort to expand my knowledge and experience of International Policing, Peacekeeping and Security matters in 1993, I became a member of the UNTAC, in 1996-98, member of UNAVEM-III/ MONUA mission, in 2000, member of OMIK and OMiFRY, in 2005, member of OMiSAM, and OMiS missions working in various capacities starting from Police Observer to Police Trainer and Key Expert – Training Adviser.

I have organized national and international training for military and police peacekeepers including ToT training and delivered various subjects while I worked for national and international context.

Besides the above, I have been working on the field of private and corporate security as a security manager for some years at one of the multi-national electronic parts producing company and lately worked as security advisor to one of the humanitarian aid and charity organization in Hungary.

I am the author of “Túlélés -Fókuszban a biztonság” / Survival – Tuned to Security and co-author of “Magyar katonák és rendőrök az ENSZ Angólai békeműveletében” – Hungarian soldiers and policeman in the UN peace operation to Angola books.

Is it important for you the safety of your loved ones and yourself, when you work in the country or far away from your home, abroad? Are you aware of the danger signals during your staying and travel? Not? So, you have to buy immediately a security manual, which deals with this kind of situations. It is the first time that such a security manual is available for everybody in Hungarian, which deals with the security aspects of peacekeeping and humanitarian missions abroad, and raises awareness as well as provides guidance in the case of different emergencies.

Hungarian soldiers and police officers in the UN peace operation in Angola

There were about 86 Hungarian soldiers, police officers, civilians working in the UN peacekeeping missions (UNAVEM/MONUA) in between 1991 and 1999 to Angola. These people have collected lots of experiences while there were serving almost at all team sites in various positions. This book is about their filed experiences. The book available only in Hungarian. Sándor Horváth is a co-writer of the above book.
